The point of reality shows, the ones that are some kind of contest, is not to see who is the best designer, or best survivor, or any of that. The point is humiliation. Utter and complete humiliation. Total loss of face and then some. Because if some poor schmuck who loses doesn't have his have rubbed in it until it is raw, the audience will not be satisfied.
